Because wood is a natural product, it tends to dry out and warp. Wood components exposed to high heat and humidity, such as the handle and lid grip, can eventually dry out and crack (like repeatedly putting a cutting board in a dishwasher). To prevent this, we recommend periodically applying mineral oil to the handle and lid grip once a month – and polishing with a soft cloth. It is also recommended to do this whenever you notice that the wood is particularly dry.
